Cherries in the Snow

Cherries in the Snow
History: I like this recipe because it throws together quickly, and I usually have all the ingredients on hand. I keep a frozen angel food cake in the freezer most of the time, and when I decide without much thought to have 10 people over, I can always have something sweet that is low calorie.
I have already put this in my girls' family cookbook.

Ingredients:

1 cooked angel food cake
1 8 ounce container fat free cool whip
¼ cup powder sugar
1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling

Directions:
  1. Tear angel food cake in bite size pieces
  2. Mix 8 ounces cool whip with ¼ cup powder sugar
  3. In a large bowl or a gallon zip lock bag mix angel food cake with powder sugar and cool whip.
  4. Put in trifle bowl or large clear bowl
  5. Pour 1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling over the top. Let drizzle down the inside of the bowl.

Must be refrigerated. Can be made a day or 2 ahead.
Buon Appetito
