Gee-Gee Batter Rolls

Granny's Batter Rolls
History: Granny was my children's great grandmother, and she was the world's best cook. These rolls melt in your mouth. They take a bit of time, but the taste is well worth it.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cups milk, scalded and cooled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 stick melted margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 packages of dry yeast
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
Directions:
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. In this order add and mix, sugar, salad oil, and well beaten eggs.
  3. Add one cup of flour and beat well.
  4. Add margarine, and then the remaining flour.
  5. Beat well and roll out dough and cut into circles with a cup or glass.
  6. Place in well oiled pans and cover and let rise until doubled.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees until brown on top.
Buon Appetito
